Chan Krieger Sieniewicz Architects, 2008
This guide follows the Walk to the Sea, highlighting points of architectural interest along this one-mile route created to celebrate and document Boston's historic connection with its harbor and the sea.
Starting at the State House atop Beacon Hill, the Walk connects a series of historic sites leading to the end of Long Wharf in Boston Harbor. The second half of the walk crosses ground that was an active harbor three centuries ago. Mayor Thomas Menino dedicated the Walk to developer and friend of the city Norman B. Leventhal in 2008, and it is now well marked and documented with helpful maps and historical panels by local graphic design firm Roll Baresi & Associates.
