National Historic Landmarks

A National Historic Landmark (NHL) is a building, site, structure, object, or district recognized by the National Park Service for its outstanding historical significance.

Only ~2,500 places in the U.S. are recognized as National Historic Landmarks. 188 of these are in Massachusetts, second only to New York.

Note this is not an exhaustive list of NHL sites in and around Boston. It only includes the sites that are included in the Guide.
