Colonnade Building

I. M. Pei and Partners, Araldo Cossutta, Lead Designer, 1968–1973

Harleston Parker Medal, 1975

The Colonnade Building was inspired by Le Corbusier’s highly sculptural buildings in Chandigarh, India with deep recesses and an upturned roof. It screens the chaotic urban scene behind it, while creating a backdrop for the plaza and 700 foot long the pool.
