O'Connell and Shaw, 1926
Harleston Parker Medal, 1930
Despite its recommendation for National Register of Historic Places designation, this building was demolished in the early 2000's when the cost of its renovation exceeded the demand for its ongoing use. No images of the structure can be found. Richard J. Shaw won three other Harleston Parker Medals, two for churches and one for the Hatch Shell, making him among the award’s most honored architects.
Remarkably, of the more than 70 Harleston Parker Medal winners since 1923, this is one of only three that no longer exists. The others are the Allston Burr Lecture Hall at Harvard and the Country School in Weston.
